This may be why the Galaxy Note 8 won’t have an optical fingerprint reader

Samsung may have decided against embedding a fingerprint reader in the display of the Galaxy Note 8 because the area containing the sensor was brighter than the rest of the screen.

As a result, it’s believed that the firm has been left with no other choice but to use the same rear-facing fingerprint reader as the Galaxy S8, though it may be positioned in a different place.

The majority of leaks we’ve seen in recent weeks all point towards the Galaxy Note 8 packing a 6.3-inch Infinity Display, an Exynos 8895 or Snapdragon 836 processor and a minimum of 6GB of RAM.
