On May 16, Samsung Pay finally launched in the UK. Unfortunately, though, it still isn’t available with a number of the region’s largest banks, including Lloyds, HSBC and NatWest.
So, what banks does Samsung Pay support in the UK? Well, the answer is pretty disappointing; it’s currently available with three — MBNA, Nationwide and Santander.
That said, Samsung has publicly confirmed that it will add compatibility for AMEX, First Direct (styled first direct), HSBC and M&S Bank in the not-too-distant future. Although, no specific timeframe was provided.
What’s so good about Samsung Pay?
Unlike Apple Pay, Samsung’s offering supports both NFC and MST transactions, which means you can use it to pay for products in a brick-and–mortar store even if it doesn’t accept contactless payments.
We’ll continue to keep this page updated with all the latest details — so be sure to check back to see if Samsung has added compatibility for any more financial institutes.
