If Samsung Pay isn’t installed on your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus out of the box — likely because it wasn’t available in the country you reside in when you purchased the handset — you’ll be pleased to hear that you can install it manually.
Wait! What’s Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay is (surprise, surprise) Samsung’s mobile payment platform. It first launched in South Korea back in August 2015 and has since made its way to sixteen regions, including Australia, Brazil, China, Malaysia, the US and UK.
What’s particularly interesting about Samsung Pay is it supports both NFC (Near Field Communication) and MST transactions, meaning you can use the service to pay for goods in a brick-and-mortar store even if it doesn’t accept contactless payments.
Okay, cool. How do I install it?
To install Samsung Pay on your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus, open up the Play Store, tap on the search bar, type in Samsung Pay, select the application, then hit Install. Alternatively, you can grab it from the Galaxy Apps Store.
