How to change the order of the navigation buttons on the Galaxy S8

As we’re sure you’re aware, the Galaxy S8 is Samsung’s first flagship smartphone to ship with on-screen navigation buttons. Instead of arranging them in the traditional Android order (Back — Home — Recents), though, the South Korean company introduced its own configuration (Recents — Home — Back).

Understandably, this decision frustrated a great deal of Galaxy S8 customers, who were quick to take to the Internet to complain that pressing the Back button on the right-hand side of the navigation bar feels a little unnatural. If you feel the same way, you’ll probably be pleased to hear that you can actually change the order.

Right, so how do I change the order of the buttons?

  1. Navigate into Settings.
  2. Press Display.
  3. Hit Navigation Bar.
  4. Select Button Layout.
  5. Choose Back — Home — Recents.
